Régulo Tcherno Camará Library
“Promoting the habit of reading”
The Régulo Tcherno Camará library serves the student community and the teaching faculty of the Cacine Sector.
Our mission is to promote the habit of reading.
This dream became a reality with the help of friends, in particular, two young volunteers from Hungary. Albert Zalan worked for one year on this project and was joined by his brother, Sami, who helped with the finishing of the library construction.
On November 13, 2009, the library was presented to the community in the presence of the Secretary of State for Education, Dr. Besna Na Fonta, government authorities and the local population.
The Régulo Tcherno Camará Library was named after the Régulo (King) of the Nalu People of Cacine. He was a person who supported, without measuring the cost, the development of educational projects for the Cacine region.
The library is open in the morning and afternoon from Monday to Friday each week. A large donation of books was received from friends in Brazil in February 2015.
It is wonderful to see children, youth and adults browsing through books and discovering a new world of adventure through reading, something which is, for many, new and very exciting.
A volunteer would be welcomed to assist in the operation of the library.
